Northwest Institute of Eco-Environment and Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences

Introduction

The Northwest Institute of Eco-Environment and Resources (NIEER), established in 2016, resulted from the merger of five former CAS institutes. It is a multidisciplinary research institute that focuses on a broad array of environmental and engineering disciplines, including cryosphere and global climate change, frozen ground and cold regions engineering, and more.

Multi-site Observation of Atmospheric Turbulence Across Loess Plateau

2019-2021, 2024

I participated in the construction and maintenance of multiple observation towers across the Loess Plateau. These towers play a vital role in measuring and recording data such as wind speed and direction, humidity, evaporation from the ground, etc., enabling the collection of consistent and long-term data for studying atmospheric turbulence and its ergodicity in measurements.

I also contributed as the second author to a journal article as editor and translator. This article aimed to validate the assumption of ergodicity in observations of atmospheric turbulence.

Operation of Fixed-wing UAVs

2019

I assembled and operated fixed-wing UAVs equipped with observational instruments. These UAVs were used to collect data on atmospheric turbulence over the Loess Plateau, where the terrain was rough and full of ravines, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our research findings.
